AHSL Phoenix Timeline, 2006-date

July 3, 2006

My first day at the COM-P. We were still in an office building on 3rd St and Indian School Road. I was in an office next to Jeanet Renaldi and across the courtyard from the main Admin office and Media Services.  Met Pat Knox and Stuart Flynn.  Became reacquainted with Keven Siegert in Biocomm. Met Burton the ONE IT guy for the campus.  Dr. Flynn was acting dean and I reported to him.  Met many others; a nice small cohesive group. Spent lots of time reading, searching, listening to the talks on the NLM Library as Place conference DVD.  Attended an orientation at the AHSL in Tucson.  Became part of the  Admin Team.  Reported to Gary.

Celebration the new campus and library.  Governor and Mayor here. Jeanette Ryan and Gary Freiburger from Tucson attended.  Lindsey Greene from Admissions on 3rd St and is a SIRLS student volunteered and wants to work here.  Fun (and hot) day!  Many campus tours and tourees, including graduates of PUHS.  Talked with Ruth Brooks at ASU’s CONHI LRC and Sherrie Schmidt of ASU Libraries.  Also saw Dr. Merlin Duval, one of the founding fathers of the UA COM. His wife was with him and she told me that the library was the first place he wanted to see!
